This 1989 vintage Laphroaig has been released as part of Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular series. Distilled in May, it was aged in refill hogshead 10898 for 26 years yielding 120 bottles in September 2015.
NOSE
Full of sweat summer tar, leaf smoke, tobacco, kindling and peated barley
PALATE
Peppermint, and now really phenolic, with creosote, liquorice and coal dust
FINISH
All the above rolled into one long smokey, peated, and distinctly burnt style.
