Caol Ila 2008 Wilson & Morgan 12 Years old. An exciting new version resulting from the long experience with aging. This bottling is a vat of five barrels with one punch filling bourbon finish and two in virgin American oak. The result is the perfect balance between the salty, dry and mineral taste of Caol Ila's classic whiskey and the contribution of virgin oak, which adds a creamy, buttery, robust backbone of sweetness: it is rich, fuller and bolder than usual. , with notes of vanilla and soft tannins that are expected from this type of barrels. The secret lies in balance, because the lighter bourbon barrels still provide a classic and lively counterpart with their intensely smoky and sharp sea notes. This is still Islay ... but with a sweeter new twist.
