Indie Ardbeg Alert: Here is a 26 year old bottling of Ardbeg single malt, independently bottled for the Mackillop's Choice range. This one was distilled in October 1991 (a few years after the distillery reopened, and a few years before the distillery was closed once again) then filled into a bourbon cask, where it matured until March 2018. Just 70 bottles were produced.

Nose: Very delicate smokiness overlying floral hints and lemon citrus, with lemon sherbet sweetness.
Palate: Citrus and sweet, with some delicate smokiness and traces of marine elements of salt and seaweed.
Finish: Finishes well and roundly with some balanced smokiness.
