The Discovery range by Gordon & MacPhail serves as the perfect introduction to the house’s extensive whisky portfolio, showcasing single malts from some of Scotland’s most admired distilleries. Organised into three flavour profiles — Sherry, Smoky and Bourbon — the range is designed for whisky lovers who enjoy exploring different styles and characters.
This Tomatin 2011 Bourbon Discovery highlights the bright and approachable side of bourbon cask maturation. The American oak influence enhances the distillery’s naturally fruity spirit, bringing layers of tropical fruits, orchard sweetness and soft vanilla notes while maintaining balance and freshness. Smooth and vibrant, it is an inviting single malt with plenty of character.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Ripe tropical fruits combine with green apple and tangerine. Lemon peel and roasted peanuts give way to soft vanilla.
Palate: Smooth pear and underlying citrus complement white peach. Malted biscuit notes and melon are balanced by black pepper.
Finish: Medium-bodied with mature oak and subtle dried herbs.
