Unlike their core range American Oak Single Cask, which is aged in ex-bourbon barrels, this single cask whisky is matured in American oak casks previously used to mature Australian tawny port-style fortified wine. The result is a flavour profile combining aspects of both our French and American oak styles, with the caramel, vanilla and bright woodiness of American oak combining with the rich dried fruit and molasses character of fortified wine. American Oak ex-Tawny Single Cask TD0199 was distilled in June of 2007 and decanted in October of 2019 maturing at Twelve years, Four months, in a single, 200L American oak cask previously filled with Tawny (Australian style Port fortified wine), prior to being filled with new make, this barrel had served a long life in the Australian wine industry.
