Chichibu Distillery II Single Malt Japanese Whisky ABV 55.5% 700ml

The first single malt whisky released from Chichibu Distillery II, which began operations in 2019. Located just up the road from their landmark first distillery in Saitama, Chichibu Distillery II boasts larger stills and aging facilities while still adhering to the quality over quantity ethos of Ichiro Akuto. The whisky showcases Chichibu’s signature lustrous fruitiness, with a rich and full-bodied flavor created by traditional direct-fired pot stills. Matured in bourbon casks, it offers a full, honey-like sweetness and a gently layered fruit character. A small addition of heavily peated whisky adds a pleasantly gentle smokiness and a robust malty finish. Beginning with whiskies that are 4 and 5 years of age, this release will be ongoing and is planned to use increasingly mature whiskies with every passing year.
