TASTING NOTES (by Whiskyfun.com)

Colour: coffee. Nose: hurray! Perfect clean waxy and nutty sherry. Raisins, toasted brioche, warm beeswax and old Sauternes. I have to say it's got something of a great old cognac, not quite armagnac this time. Mouth: cognac indeed. Sure the PX made it very sweet, but not quite sickly so. I also like the leather and the tobacco, as well as the earthiness again. And the bitter oranges. Finish: long, maybe a wee tad drying and astringent, but that's nothing. More pepper and tea in the aftertaste, but also a lot of sultanas. Pepper tea, does that exist? Comments: maybe it hasn't got the obvious fullness of the 1991s, but it's still a great one IMHO. SGP:662 - 88 points.
