Elements Of Islay Lg12 Single Malt Scotch Whisky ABV 55.4% 500ml

Inspired by Mendeleev’s periodic table of elements, Elements of Islay is a range of single malts from the island of Islay, created under code by British independent bottler Elixir Distillers. Bottled without reduction or cold filtration, these bottlings tour the finest distilleries on the island, centered around one essential element: peat. Lagavulin was the first distillery to legally produce whisky on the island of Islay. Located east of Port Ellen from where its malted barley comes, it produces a peaty single malt in the purest tradition of the island. Distilled in 2007 and aged for over 14 years, this Lg12 combines a perfect balance of sweetness, intensity and saltiness, all wrapped in a scented wood smoke and a floral accent.

A smoky, spicy limited-edition Lagavulin single malt from the Elements of Islay series, Lg12 is a marriage of two ex-bourbon barrels, filled in 2007 and matured for more than 14 years. Aromas of maple-smoked bacon, oak spice, chewy caramel and fresh lilies fill the nose, complemented by notes of runny honey, beef jerky, cured meats, rich smoke, clove and peppery spice throughout the palate.

Nose : Fresh. Smoked bacon, salted butter caramel, spices.

Palate : Full, delicate. Dried beef, floral notes, smoky malted barley.

Finish : Delicate smoke, clove, finely woody.
