Introduced in Japan on May 29th 2012, the limited release Nikka Taketsuru 25 years old is now available in Europe, though in very small quantities.
Like the rest of the Taketsuru range, which includes 12, 17 and 21 year bottlings, thispure malt whisky hails from the two Nikka distilleries in the north of Japan: Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Created as a tribute to their founder Masataka Taketsuru, the Nikka Taketsuru is an emblematic whisky range for the Japanese brand. This special status is reinforced by its many international awards.
Made from malt whiskies aged at least 25 years, this new flagship offers floral aromas with soft sherry notes and a touch of sweetness from its long oak maturation. A hint of peat comes through on the complex finish.
