Back in 2006, whilst creating that year's 30 year old, Bob Delgarno set aside an additional parcel of Sherry casks that would be allowed to continue to age. A decade later, this Macallan 40 Years Sherry Oak 2016 Release non-vintage 40 year old (the distillery's second ever release of this kind) is the result. Just 500 bottles were produced, originally available through the Macallan website. It's said to exhibit classic notes of Sherried spice, sultanas, ginger and cinnamon.
